»Dance Communication Lab / Improvizacijski napad«

»Dance Communication Lab / Improvisation attack«

with musician Tomaž Grom and dancers from Austria, Hungary and Slovenia

The Dance Communication Lab/ Improvisation Attack is devoted to learning about the creators of dance performances through the dance and to the insight of the public into the hidden events of dance creation. The spectators can personally witness the birth of ideas and interweaving of the dance. The happening on the stage is not a performance, not a finalized and selected dance “material”, but a live communication process which includes dance as the language - the means of communication. On the stage we can observe a multicultural dialogue in its most precious form.

At this year Front festival, the Improvisation Attack/ Dance Communication Lab will join the dancers from Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia and the musician Tomaž Grom in improvisation synergy and exploration.

Tomaž Grom is an acknowledged Slovenian musician, established in the creation of extremely different genres. In performance arts, he participates in the spheres of theatre, dance and puppets. His authorship approach is distinguished by digitally processed and acoustic sounds. He has been cooperating in the groups Cpg impro, Alzheimer3 and Tilt and as a soloist, he has been focusing mainly on exploring the dimensions of different techniques of performing on the double bass and its combinations with electronics. As an author he has been creating both through the pre-structured and improvised forms, but his major inspiration has always been the principle of spontaneous sonority. During his career, he was a guest at numerous festivals in Europe and Canada and in 2007 he won the Zlata ptica (Golden Bird) award, devoted to innovative creativity and conferred by the Liberal Academy.

After the performance there will be a discussion hosted by Jedrt J. Furlan.
