Skupina 2Faced Dance je nastala leta 1999 in deluje v plesni rezidenci v Herefordu na Courtyard Centre for the Arts. Skupino je ustanovil umetniški vodja Tamsin Fitzgerald in že od samega začetka velja za eno izmed vodilnih plesnih skupin v Veliki Britaniji. S prepletanjem tehnik breakdancea, uličnega in sodobnega plesa ter akrobatskimi in baletnimi elementi so 2Faced Dance postali mednarodno uspešni in ugledni.
Že od nekdaj pravijo "dva sta družba, trije so gneča". In vendar – ali so vseeno lahko tudi trije v harmoniji? Čeprav tretji opazuje, kako druga dva ubirata enake korake, se lahko njegovo posnemanje oblikuje v popolnoma drugačno pot. V predstavi Third trije plesalci raziskujejo dinamiko svojih zapletenih odnosov, pri tem pa združujejo individualne izrazne sloge, ki prehajajo v formo nove in eksplozivne plesne govorice. Infarct je izjemno dinamičen nastop čistega breakdancea, kjer se tako rekoč brez prestanka in v polnem zagonu odražajo natančnost, disciplina, pa tudi blišč tega »tveganega« plesnega žanra. Ko blišč in glamur izgineta, ostane le še surova tehnika, vpeta med lepoto in zapletenostjo – tako kot pri dobrem starem baletu.
The group 2Faced Dance was established in 1999 and has been creating in the dance residence in Hereford at Courtyard Centre for the Arts. The group was founded by the art director Tamsin Fitzgerald and from the very beginning, it has been considered one of the leading dance groups in Great Britain. By combining the techniques of breakdance, street dance and contemporary dance, and incorporating acrobatic and ballet elements, the members of 2Faced Dance have been enjoying international success and reputation.
It’s been an old wisdom that "two are company, three are crowd". And yet – can three also exist in harmony together? Although the third one is watching the other two taking the same steps, his imitation may nevertheless evolve into something very different. In the performance Third, the three dancers investigate the dynamics of their complicated relations, merging their individual styles of expression which are transformed into a new and explosive dance language. Infarct is an extremely dynamic performance of pure breakdance where the precision, discipline and also the splendour of this “risky” dance genre is reflected incessantly and at full speed.When splendour and glamour disappear, raw technique is all that is left, oscillating between beauty and intricacy, like in the good old-fashioned ballet.
