Ryuzo Fukuhara: A DANCE FOR SOMEONE

An adaptable dance intervention

Who a performer performs to is a key issue for the Korean dancer Ryuzo Fukuhara. His piece A Dance For Someone challenges the closed circle of a theater and its audience. He is interested in art available to everyone, so he randomly picks the audience himself. His choreography can come to life anywhere and everywhere, in front of people passing by or simply waiting. Dance is a unique event that the artist adapts to a particular situation, place and people that he meets. In an improvised communication with the audience, an individual can enjoy a dance created just for her/him.
