Leta 2010 je Liz King začela delati s skupino štirinajstih ljudi iz Obertwarta v južnoavstrijski pokrajini Burgenland. Delavnic se udeležujejo najrazličnejši ljudje v starosti od trideset do šestdeset let. Namen teh dveurnih tedenskih srečanj je obuditi najzgodnejše izvore gibanja oziroma raziskovanje giba kot instinktivnega načina sporazumevanja, ob čemer se udeležence spodbuja, naj zaupajo in se kot otroci predajo temu, kar so v procesu odkrili.Within the Forest je že tretja predstava, ki temelji na teh srečanjih.

In 2010, Liz King started to work with fourteen local people from the area of Oberwart in Burgenland, Southern Austria. The participants come from all walks of life and are aged between thirty and sixty. The aim is to go back to the early origins of moving such as we do when we are babies. Throughout the two hour workshop sessions, we explore movement as an instinctive way of communicating and learn to trust what we discover.

“Within The Forest“ is the third of a series of pieces relating to these exercises.

Serija medgeneracijskih delavnic sodobnega plesa Generacije je bila zasnovana za aktivno vključevanje določenih skupin prebivalcev občine Murska Sobota v dogodke festivala Front@ in programa Evropske prestolnice kulture 2012. To je tudi eden izmed načinov, kako sodobni ples približati čim širšemu krogu občinstva. Ljubiteljska zagnanost skupine upokojencev, ki je medtem pridobila tudi nove člane, je narekovala nadaljevanje delovanja. Letos se je skupina predstavila tudi na festivalu Gradiščanski dnevi plesa v avstrijskem Oberwartu. Kratek odlomek prikaza dela v letu 2013 in prizadevanja nastopajočih kažejo, da je sodobni ples lahko del življenja vsakega človeka.

A series of transgenerational contemporary dance workshops aims to actively include specific groups of Murska Sobota residents in the programmes of Front@ Festival and the European Capital of Culture 2012. At the same time, these workshops present an excellent opportunity for the residents and the wider public to get to know contemporary dance or improve their knowledge about it. The enthusiasm with which the group of older people from Murska Sobota attended the workshops prompted us to continue with these activities. This year the group made a presentation of their work at the Burgenland Days of Dance in Oberwart, Austria. A short presentation of what they have accomplished in 2013 shows that contemporary dance can be a meaningful part of life for anybody.
