V osnovni šoli učenci obiskujejo programe ritmike, različnih plesnih tehnik, glasbene vzgoje in učenja klavirja ter pridobivajo temelje plesne in glasbene izobrazbe.
Tedna sodobnega plesa v Zagrebu.
Ane Maletić’s School of contemporary dance was established in 1954 on the tradition of the European contemporary dance and is named after its founder. Structurally, it is divided into a four-year primary and four-year secondary school and is the only educational institution of its kind in Croatia.
In the primary dance school, the pupils attend the programmes of rhytmics, various dance techniques, musical education and piano lessons and obtain basic musical and dance knowledge. In the secondary school programme where the pupils may enroll after they have passed the audition, they train to be dancers of contemporary dance. Their education consists of a rich substantive programme and wider pedagogical and choreographic knowledge and skills.
In the school year 2009/2010, the pupils of the third and fourth grade created the project »Beta« under the choreography of Matjaž Farič. This performance has been recently presented also at the Zagreb Dance Center within the framework of events taking place during the 27th Week of Contemporary Dance in Zagreb.

Plesni projekt Pred-premiera je vsakoletna zaključna predstavitev maturantov in preostalih letnikov dijakinj in dijakov plesne gimnazije SVŠGL – modul sodobni ples, ki nastaja od leta 2003 v okviru srednješolskih dejavnosti. Zaključna produkcija je preplet in predstavitev vseh štirih letnikov gimnazije pod vodstvom njihovih mentorjev – priznanih slovenskih ustvarjalk in ustvarjalcev sodobnega plesa.
Dijaki so se z mentorji lotili raziskave vlog opazovalca in opazovanega v smislu dveh sestavnih, vendar zmeraj ločenih delov neke identitete.
The dance project Before the premiere is an annual end-of-the-year production of the candidates taking secondary school leaving examinations and other students of the dance high school (Art High School in Ljubljana) – Department of Contemporary Dance, which has been taking place since 2003 within the framework of high-school activities. The end-of-the-year production is a combination and presentation of all four grades of high school students under the guidance of their mentors – acknowledged Slovenian creators of contemporary dance.
This year’s theme OPAZOVATI in/ali OPAZOVANO (TO WATCH and/or TO BE WATCHED) refers to the third essay from the book Ways of seeing by the author John Berger. Together with their mentors, the students took up a research of the roles of the observer and the observed as two integral, albeit always separated parts of an identity.
