This dramatic dance performance is based on sections from the text Intermedi da la Pelegrina by Ottavio Rinuccini. The libretto by the director Giovanni De Bardi has a specific representative character of the music of the Revival and was written for the wedding of Ferdinand Medici and Cristina di Lorena. The performance process was inspired by both the research of the above libretto and the dramatic presentation of Plato's idealism and similar life philosophies, this time transformed by interpretation into different dramatic and musical forms. The key component is provided by the Pelegrin’s message from 1589, which predicted the return of the golden age as the hallmark of the return of pleasure and life optimism and simultaneously opened a symbolic way out of the cage of the dark middle ages.

Respect for the original and genre relevance of the ritual ceremony helped the creators to create unusual stage settings which encompass those casual moments in the course of life that are collectively recognized through the archetypical perspective in the form of celebrations, general values, existential skepticism, love, morals, truth and ideals. The creation of the festive atmosphere of the Medici’s and Lorena’s wedding takes place through the cleansed subjective lens of the protagonists. The event is presented from the perspective that exposes the historical exaggeration and the power of dogmatism – two concepts that had a major impact on the expression of these historical moments.

After the performance there will be a discussion hosted by Jedrt J. Furlan.
