Z vztrajanjem v nepričakovanih prekinitvah in umeščanjem gest znotraj stalnega pretoka giba doseže koreografija nepričakovano napetost.

Stripped ironizira svoje lastne postopke in kode v diskurzu sodobnega plesa, vzajemno k temu pa postavlja središčno vprašanje: Ali poskušamo izluščiti, sleči, iztrgati našo zunanjost?

Stripped is a serious, premeditated dance project which speaks ironically of the contemporary time and male-female relationships and simultaneously appropriates the language of allusions and delineates a specific baroque space of imagination. Constant chaos of the pre-cast roles taken from the operas attempts to bring forth liberation from the stereotypes that today still continue to dominate the shaping of opinions and subsequently also the integral experience. The genre of melodrama operates with major themes, strong emotions and melancholic feelings of loss, while all the time it promises a sudden (happy) turnabout of events, changing the direction towards another time and destiny by a single stroke. The choreography attains unexpected tension by insisting on unexpected interruptions and placing of gestures within the constant flow of the movement.

Stripped makes irony out of its own procedures and codes in the discourse of contemporary dance and simultaneously poses a central question: are we trying to shell, undress, tear out our appearance? Do we want to know at all what is hiding under our epidermis? It is a paradox that the performance in fact celebrates and praises the superficiality and does not “cut” into it. Stripped presents a “spectacle of superficiality and appearance”, but in doing so it inevitably warns of the disastrous forms of spectacularity in the present times – particularly in the time of critical reduction and lack of genuine emotions.

After the performance there will be a discussion hosted by Jedrt J. Furlan.
