Magnificent Epic Wet is a powerful choreographic work by Sofia Mavragani that reflects on heroism under conditions of instability. Expanding from its original duet into a densely woven group composition, the performance dissolves the figure of the individual hero into an ever-shifting collective body.

At its core lies the question of who bears the burden of collapse. As dominant structures of power begin to crumble, the sovereign subject gives way to a fragile plurality that negotiates the conditions of survival through interdependence and constant adaptation.

Water functions both as a material element and as a choreographic principle, shaping the dynamics of the performance. It supports, threatens, connects, and destabilises. Its presence continually transforms balance, rhythm, and movement. Bodies slide, pursue one another, support one another, collide, and reorganise, constantly renegotiating the relationship between stability and vulnerability.

Here, collectivity does not emerge as an image of harmony but as a process of coordination under pressure. The choreography moves between density and dispersion, cohesion and fracture, tracing a community that is simultaneously coming into being and falling apart.

Six dancers from En–Knap, joined by five dancers from the Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia (selected through an open call), bring Sofia Mavragani's powerful choreography to life. Challenging inherited notions of heroism and hierarchy, the work proposes a different kind of epic –
one created collectively by many bodies navigating crisis and instability together. Glory is no longer monumental; instead, it emerges through interdependence, shared perseverance, and fleeting acts of solidarity formed on uncertain ground.
